Magazine Drive Provides Library With Technology

The library would also like to thank the many community members who graciously donated funds to the library during the school's yearly magazine drive. The money was used to purchase a new server and computers for library use.

Each student who turned in library donations during the magazine drive had his or her name placed in a box once for every $5 the student collected. We drew the names of three students for prizes. They are Katie Stewart, Holland Mercer (Not Pictured), and Trey Moser.

Library Receives New Reference Books

The HHS 1950s alumni recently gave the library funds to buy new reference books. The library selected Great Events from History: The 18th Century and Great Events from History: The 19th Century. These books are great resources for our students as they work on research projects in various classes.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series
Newest Library Addition

When Sherry Keown began working at the HHS Library in August, she realized that the library had no books by her favorite author Robert Jordan. To remedy the situation, Mrs. Keown ordered the first book in the Wheel of Time series and donated it to the library. Since donating Eye of the World, Mrs. Keown has ordered New Spring, The Dragon Reborn, Path of Daggers, Winter's Heart, Crossroads of Twilight, and Knife of Dreams. She has also donated The Shadow Rising, Fires of Heaven, and Lord of Chaos.

These books are now available for checkout. They are geared toward those who enjoy fantasy. Students and faculty who enjoy reading books by J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Brian Jacques, and C.S. Lewis may enjoy this series. Mrs. Keown is also more than happy to discuss the books with any readers.
