HHS Header

* Motor vehicles driven on school grounds must be operated in conformance with regulations of the State of Tennessee, the City of Hendersonville, and the Sumner County Board of Education. Failure to comply with said regulations or with the directions of any HHS staff member will result in suspension or revocation of the student’s parking permit. This is a privilege.

* Motor vehicles parked on school grounds must visibly display a valid permit from their review mirror with numbers facing out. Cars without a visibly displayed permit will be tagged, wheel locked and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

* Vehicles should be locked at all times. The school is NOT responsible for vehicles or their contents while they are parked on school property.

* Student vehicles may be subject to search if there are reasonable grounds to believe drugs, alcohol, stolen property, or other illegal items that might be present in that vehicle. Anything found in a student’s vehicle is considered to be in his/her possession.

* Any vehicle parked illegally in fire lanes, handicapped or in an area not designated by their permit type will be ticketed, wheel locked or towed.

* Students are not allowed to loiter in their vehicles or in their school’s parking lots before, during or after school.

* Revocation of permits may occur for the following:

* speeding (over 15 mph) and/or careless driving

* violating the school’s tobacco or chemical substance policy  on school grounds

* excessive tardiness, absences, neglect of detention or other offenses as determined by the administration

* failing to return school issued athletic equipment following season of play

* other behavioral and/or driving violations

* Lost permits may be replaced at a cost of $10.00. Permits sold to a student are for use by that student. All students involved in the purchase and subsequent resale of a permit or using a permit that does not belong to them will be disciplined

* Students receiving a chemical use violation may not drive to school until they complete a chemical heath class to be determined by Youth Alive and Free.

* Parking a vehicle on school property is a privilege, not a right.
