The next HHS Book Club meeting is October 30 at 7:15am in the library. The book we will be discussing is Children of Blood and Bone and everyone is welcome to join us.

The HHS canned food drive benefiting the Samaritan Center will be October 21-25. Please bring in cans or money ($1 = 5 cans) to help people in our community. All of our donations stay in the Hendersonville area and supply food for local families.

Sophomores and Juniors-The Tennessee Governor’s Schools provide eleven challenging and high-intensity programs for rising 11th and 12th grade students nominated by high school faculty. Students interested in participating in a Governor’s School program may obtain the application from Mrs. Henry in the guidance office or print from the Governor’s School website. Unless otherwise noted, all applications are due to Mrs. Henry in HHS Guidance by November 15.

Congressman John Rose invites anyone interested to attend the Military Academy Day this Saturday, October 19 at Wilson Central High School. You will be able to meet with representatives, alumni, Cadets and Midshipmen from the Military Service Academies and ROTC programs and learn about available scholarships.

Civitan Club of Hendersonville is looking to hire basketball scorekeepers for adult and youth leagues. Applications are due by 5pm on October 25 and you can download an application on the Civitan’s website.

Congratulations to both the girls and boys bowling team for their win against Merrol Hyde. Congrats to Katherine Ross for a 189, Jay Battista for a 189, Logan Salinas for a new high game and Brian Stinson for a 204.

Football game away tonight at Gallatin High School, tickets are on sale in the front office for $6.
