The newly renovated Commando Corner will open to students Monday (May 9), and with the new look comes new merchandise.
A peek in the plate window Thursday (May 5) revealed racks and baskets filled with T-shirts of black, gray, yellow, and baby blue, along with shelves of silver cups and water bottles.
The store, which is in the gym lobby across from the HHS bank, will be open before school from 7:30-8 and then again during lunch (3rd block). Seniors in marketing teachers Christy Brown’s and Lisa Baugh’s classes will staff it.
Before the space was renovated to be a store, students had to order merchandise online. Now that they can see and touch the items, they can actually go inside and shop.
Seniors Liza Sircy and Taylor Dixon, who will help staff Commando Corner, think the new setup is inviting and will encourage students to stop in.
“That’s what we’re hoping,” Taylor said.
Liza added, “The shirts are a lot cuter and better than they were before.”
So if you’re looking to add a dash of school spirit to your summer wardrobe, the new Commando Corner is the place to go – but hurry before school lets out May 26.
